Creation – “Making Time” (1967)

Gotta love that scuzzy, chunky bowed guitar, that put-on snarl that can’t hide the fact that this is a perfect pop song.  Every once in a while, Musicophilia is prepared to rock.

It’s on the wholly-excellent Rushmore soundtrack.

This song is a complete gas, an inspiration for some of our work in The Long Afternoon. This song kicks the snot out of all the Who’s early singles, and much of the Creation’s other work is just as compelling. Supposedly Jimmy Page lifted the bowed bit from “Dazed and Confused” from this cut, and I can believe it. But The Creation do it much better. Thanks for sharing!
